Census Records

        If you would like to transcribe a census record for Briscoe County or have already done so, please contribute your transcription by emailing me. All files on this site are free for researchers and we always source our information and give credit where credit is due!

The USGenWeb Census Project has many volunteer opportunities, as well as, many census records on file for other counties in Texas and other states. To view these, please visit the USGenWeb Census Project. The USGenWeb Project also has another special project with census records and it is called the USGenWeb Online Census Image Project. This special project has images of census records, but not all counties have these images on file, however, there are a lot of images online through contributions from contributors and volunteers.

The 1880 U.S. Census record is free to search, courtesy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints' website, FamilySearch.org. In addition to the 1880 U.S. Census, they also have available the 1881 British Isle Census and the 1881 Canadian Census.
