LeVAN: Centre County, Pennsylvania
I wish to present Germanic family names who have been affected by Huntington's Disease. There is another line of HD in Centre County, Pennsylvania which seems to be unrelated to the BORST/EMINGER family, at least as of my present research. I refer to the LeVAN family of Centre County: Elizabeth LeVAN b. 1822 in Centre Co., d. 1876 in Centre Co., married John HOLDERMAN. There were early LeVAN families in the Millheim area of Centre Co. but I haven't yet tracked them specifically to see if I could find her HD origins. (John HOLDERMAN is a relative on my grandfather's side; on my grandmother's side I am a BORST descendant). Descendants mostly reside in Centre and Blair Counties, PA, but some have scattered. Affected families include:
ATHERTON, DOIG, ESWORTHY, FOOR, GROVE, HAIGH, HOLDERMAN/HALDERMAN/HOLDEMAN, RIGGLE, ROSE (this family moved to Canada), SOYSTER, WILDE.
I am happy to correspond with anyone having an interest in these families.
