HAROLD CREAGH STOREY, 87, passed away Friday, June 18, 2004.
Harold started his career with the Galveston News Tribune in October, 1942 as an apprentice and later as pressman. He later moved to the Houston Post as a pressman and retired in 1983.
He faithfully served his country in WWII with the Seabees of the 1st Special Construction Batallion and the 146th Construction Battalion in the Pacific Theatre in Guadalcanal and Okinawa.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Evelyn O'Neal Storey; second wife, Lois Maurine Storey; sister, America Mae Killough and grandson, Christopher Scott Storey.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Mary Weems Storey; daughter, Marilyn Elaine Moorman and her husband, John William; step-daughter, Amy Beth Barron; son, Vertis O'Neal Storey and his wife, Carolyn; granddaughters, Alison Nico White and Katherine Park Moorman;
great-granddaughters, Tara Vanessa Collins and Storey Nico White; niece, Dorothy Jean Killough; nephew, John William Killough, III.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2004. Funeral services, 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004 in the Main Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home with Rev. Barbara Weems Marcum, officiating.
Pallbearers; Gerard Johnson, Sherman Kyles, Henry Duran, Jesse Weihausen, Eddie Volotko, Robert Carruthers, Doug Plummer and Roger Small.
Interment to follow, Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
