'Nita had early onset of Huntington's Disease. She had a great musical talent, being proficient in several instruments. Her husband was a criminal, having several felony convictions against him. He spent time in prison while they were married and when out spent all his time getting back into prison.

Wedding announcement, as appeared in the Sanger Herald, June 3, 1954: JUANITA JONES, LEROY MYERS WED IN FRESNO Miss Juanita Josephine Jones and Leroy Robert Myers, both of Fresno were united in marriage Thursday evening, May 27, in the sanctuary of the First Christian Church in a simple ceremony performed by Dr. David L. Krantz, pastor of the church, of which the bride is a member. A large basket of white gladioli provided the setting for the ceremony and attending the couple were Mrs. Francis Phelps and David Jones, both of Fresno. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Poetker, at 3020 E. Kern St. in Fresno. Mr. and Mrs A.J. Crow of Kerman, the bride's grandparents with Mr. and Mrs Elmer McElroy and daughter, Betty, and Mr and Mrs Alfred McElroy and daughter, Kathleen were among the guests attending the wedding. The new Mrs. Myers is a former Sangerite and attended local schools. She is a graduate of the Continuation High School in Fresno and attended Fresno Junior College. Myers attended Fresno schools. He is employed in Fresno where the couple will establish their home at 309 Inez St.
