I checked in the Oxford English Dictionary and the name "senn" is German, rarely used since the early 19th century, but the definition of a "senn" is a herdsman in the Alps. Also Comb. senn-cabin, sennhutt, repr. G. sennhèutte, a herdsman's chalet. c1822 MRS. HEMANS League of Alps 1: 'Twas night upon the Alps. The Senn's wild horn,.. had pour'd its last long tone. c1822 Alp-Horn Song 16: The low sen-cabins and pastures free. 1868 KINGSLEY Hermits 131: During that short period of the year when the maidens in the sennhutt watch the cattle upon the upland pastures. s. | Senn, Frederick (I8)

I find a lot of records in Upshur County for the Riggs family but it is hard to decipher the relationships. I find Theodore Alexander married to Elizabeth Foster. I find Jesse Theodore married to Anna Eliza Foster. I believe these are the same people but can't be sure. Jesse's father is Alexander. The children for Jesse and Eliza include Samantha Lee, Lucy Clyde, and Georgeanna. Only Thomas' death certificate has Theodore Alexander and Elizabeth. Samantha's has Th J and Elizabeth.
Hariett comes from the 1870 Census and her other records are under Etta. Samantha has a death certificate under SIMMONS and is on the 1900 census but I can't make out her husband's given name. Lucy has a death certificate under COCHRAN, she maied Thomas Hayes Cochran. Georgeanna has a death cert under PENCE. There is also a marriage record for Georgeanna to Jas or Jos H SNELL and Daniel Pence. The Pence marriage shows her name as Anna GOODWIN. | Riggs, Theodore Alexander (I182)

I found several references that give her last name as COOPER. Unfortunately there are two Leander Mahans born in Virginia and lived in West Virginia. Ours evidently married two women called Mattie. The 2nd Mattie, surname ANTILL married Leander in 1901 so she isn't the mother of Ernest. I have been unable to find anything for our Mattie other than an unverified memorial at FindaGrave. | Cooper, Martha (I1556)

It's possible that this is the James Beasley enumerated in 1900 and 1910 in Douglas County. That James is born Oct 1861 and is married to Hannah, daughter of Catherine Polk. In 1900, they had only been married for 9 months and, in 1910, he says he has only been married one time but Catherine isn't enumerated with him. | Beasley, James * (I1130)
